When “Is This Thing On?” Coming To Disney+ & Hulu?

This holiday season, Disney is releasing a brand-new film from Searchlight Pictures, “Is This Thing On?” This has been created by Bradley Cooper and is based on the life of British comedian John Bishop.

At the centre is Alex Novak (Will Arnett), who seeks a new purpose in the New York comedy scene, navigating the gap between the person he is onstage and the one he’s trying to become off it. As his career teeters between breakthrough and burnout, he’s forced to confront an impending divorce with his wife (Laura Dern) and the long-avoided truths that got him to where he is now.

When Is “Is This Thing On?” Released?

“Is This Thing On?” is being released exclusively in cinemas in the United States and Canada on 19th December 2025. The film will be released in cinemas in the United Kingdom over a month later on January 30th 2026.

When Will “Is This Thing On?” Be On Disney+ & Hulu?

Currently, no official Hulu or Disney+ release date has yet been announced.

As with other Searchlight Picture films, we should expect it to be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world, usually around three months after its initial theatrical release. This means it’s likely to arrive later on Disney+ in some countries, such as the UK and Australia.

Based on previous Searchlight Pictures releases such as “The Roses” and “A Complete Unknown”, it’s likely that “Is This Thing On?” won’t arrive on Hulu or Disney+ until late March 2026.
