Searchlight Picture’s latest film is “The Banshees Of Inisherin”, which is set on a remote island off the west coast of Ireland, and follows lifelong friends Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an impasse when Colm unexpectedly puts an end to their friendship. A stunned Padraic, aided by his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon) and troubled young islander Dominic (Barry Keoghan), endeavours to repair the relationship, refusing to take no for an answer. But Padraic’s repeated efforts only strengthen his former friend’s resolve and when Colm delivers a desperate ultimatum, events swiftly escalate, with shocking consequences.

When Is “The Banshees Of Inisherin” Released?

This new film from Searchlight Pictures has been previewed at some film festivals and will officially be released in cinemas first in many countries including the US, Canada, UK and Ireland on Friday, 21st October 2022. The film is being released later this year in some countries, including Australia and New Zealand, on Boxing Day.

When Will “The Banshees Of Inisherin” Be On Disney+?

This will very much differ, depending on where you live, and with the film having different theatrical release dates in different countries, it’s much more complicated.

In the United States, due to a long-standing contract that 20th Century Fox signed with HBO years ago, which expires this year, the film will be going to HBO Max on December 13th 2022.

Internationally, “The Banshees Of Inisherin” will likely follow a similar release pattern as other 20th Century Studio films in 2022, with new films being released about 45 days after its theatrical release date.

Disney has confirmed that “The Banshees Of Inisherin” will be released on Disney+ in Canada on Wednesday, 14th December 2022, and a week later, the film will be available on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, 21st December 2022.

In Australia and New Zealand, due to the later theatrical release, expect it to arrive on Disney+ in early February 2023.

Is “The Banshees Of Inisherin” Coming To Disney+ Premier Access?

Disney has confirmed that following the release of “Jungle Cruise”, it won’t be using Disney+ Premier Access, instead offering selected movies exclusively in cinemas first, before being released on Disney’s streaming services.
