Disney has announced that a new Korean Star Original, “Connect”, will be coming to Disney+ around the world on Wednesday, 7th December 2022, including in Canada and the United Kingdom.  This will be the first Korean drama series to debut globally on Disney+ at once.   The series will be released on Hulu in the United States.

“Connect” features Jung Hae-in (Snowdrop) as Ha Dong-soo—a new type of immortal human known as Connect. Dong-soo is kidnapped by a gang of organ harvesters determined to take his eyes. After suddenly waking up on an operating table, part way through the surgery, Dong-soo manages to escape with his one remaining eye. Later he discovers that he can still see out of his missing eye, which is now being used by a serial killer terrorizing the residents of Seoul. Determined to get back what was taken, Dong-soo will pursue the killer, taking whatever steps are necessary to make himself whole again.

The new six-episode series is being directed by Japanese director Miike Takashi (Audition, Ichi the Killer, Gozu).  The series also stars including Go Kyung-pyo (Love In Contract, Private Lives, Chicago Typewriter) playing the serial killer Oh Jin-seop, and Kim Hye-jun (Kingdom, Inspector Koo, Matrimonial Chaos) as the mysterious Irang. “Connect” has been written by Nakamura Masaru and Heo Dam (Monstrum).

The series premiered last month, as part of the “Onscreen Section” of the 27th Busan International Film Festival.

Will you be checking out “Connect” when it drops onto Hulu and Disney+ internationally on December 7th?
