When Is “A Haunting In Venice” Coming To Disney+?
This September, Disney’s 20th Century Studios is releasing the third instalment in Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot film franchise, “A Haunting In Venice” in cinemas.
The film, which stars Branagh as famed detective Hercule Poirot and features a brilliant acting ensemble portraying a cast of unforgettable characters, including Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Emma Laird, Kelly Reilly, Riccardo Scamarcio, and Michelle Yeoh.
“A Haunting in Venice” is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows’ Eve and is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
Reuniting many of the filmmakers behind 2017’s “Murder on the Orient Express” and 2022’s “Death on the Nile,” the film is directed by Kenneth Branagh with a screenplay by Oscar nominee Michael Green based upon Agatha Christie’s novel “Hallowe’en Party.” The producers are Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, and Simon Kinberg, with Louise Killin, James Prichard, and Mark Gordon serving as executive producer.
When Is “A Haunting In Venice” Released?
“A Haunting In Venice” is being released exclusively in cinemas on September 15th, 2023.
When Will “A Haunting In Venice” Be On Disney+?
Currently, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced.
In the United States, it’s likely the film will be released on Hulu, though since Disney is going to be adding Hulu content to Disney+ later in the year, we should expect the film to eventually be available, along with “Death On The Nile” and “Murder On The Orient Express”, within Disney+.
Outside the United States, all new 20th Century Studios films are released on Disney+, and these release dates are usually inline with Hulu’s release date as long as there is a global release date. Sometimes, especially with Searchlight Pictures films, a new film has a slower global rollout.
While “Avatar: The Way Of Water” took over six months to go from cinemas to Disney+, many of this year’s other releases, like “Chevalier” and “Theater Camp”, have been arriving around sixty days after an initial theatrical release, though “Boogeyman” has been over ninety days since its initial release. So it’s likely that “A Haunting In Venice” will arrive on Disney+ around the world in November or December, unless Disney decides to make this a last-minute Halloween release, to capitalise on the spooky season, but Disney might be hoping to boost the box office performance during this time.
Is “A Haunting In Venice” Coming To Disney+ Premier Access?
Disney has confirmed that following the release of “Jungle Cruise”, it won’t be using Disney+ Premier Access, instead offering selected movies exclusively in cinemas first, before being released on Disney’s streaming services.
