It’s Friday and time to take a look at what’s been added onto Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland today, which includes a number of classic films plus a brand new original version of the classic fairytale, “Cinderella”.

Here’s the rundown:

Sneakerella

El, an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens, works as a stock boy in a shoe store and hides his artistic talent. Sparks fly after a chance encounter with Kira King, the daughter of sneaker royalty and a Manhattan Princess Charming of sorts. With a nudge from his best friend and a touch of magic, El finds the courage to lace up and dream big.

Goodbye Christopher Robin

The father-son relationship between Alan Alexander Milne, an author, and his son, Christopher Robin, is profound. Their bonding inspires Alan to write about the magical world of ‘Winnie-the-Pooh’.

Bruce Almighty

A furious TV reporter demands an explanation from God for the injustice done to him. The Almighty gives him the power to run the world for a while, to teach him how difficult it is.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Buffy Summers, a cheerleader and popular girl in high school, learns that she is the latest in a long line of vampire hunters who now has to eradicate a nest of vampires in Los Angeles.

Tommy

It was a remarkable and compelling rise to the spotlight. But then came the stunning, confounding, and ultimately tragic fall. In the 30 for 30 film “Tommy,” directors Erin Leyden and Gentry Kirby explore the story of one-time heavyweight boxing champion Tommy Morrison in a tale that’s unlike any other. Born into a troubled family in the American heartland, Morrison’s initial emergence as a fighter was bolstered by a starring role in Rocky V. A few years later, he beat George Foreman for the WBO heavyweight title, and seemed primed for more stardom, even in the face of blown opportunities and upset losses. But then everything changed in early 1996, when he tested positive for HIV, forcing him into retirement. From there, Morrison’s life spiraled further and further downward, plagued by drug problems, jail time, and most alarmingly and bizarrely, an eventual denial that he had the virus at all. There have been other boxers, and other sports stars, whose stories ended sadly. But rarely is the loss of potential as poignant as the case of Tommy Morrison.

Muhamman and Larry

In October of 1980 Muhammad Ali was preparing to fight for an unprecedented fourth heavyweight title against his friend and former sparring partner Larry Holmes. To say that the great Ali was in the twilight of his career would be generous; most of his admiring fans, friends and fight scribes considered his bravado delusional. What was left for him to prove?

Drain The Ocean: WWII

WWII left a huge number of ships and submarines hidden beneath the waves. As the oceans drain, each vessel tells its tale, with surveys and scans allowing for new data-based 3D reconstructions and a whole new set of explanations.

Drain the Sunken Pirate City

On June 7th 1692, an earthquake followed by a tsunami destroyed the city. , Archaeologist Dr. Jon Henderson uses the latest high tech scientific survey to reveal the full extent of the 33 acre sunken city for the first time.
