Today, Disney+ subscribers in Canada can enjoy the latest film from Searchlight Pictures film, “Next Goal Wins”.

Based on a true story, this heartfelt underdog comedy follows the American Samoa soccer team, infamous for their brutal 31-0 FIFA loss in 2001. With the World Cup qualifiers fast approaching, the team hires down-on-his-luck, maverick coach Thomas Rongen, hoping he will turn the world’s worst soccer team into winners.

“Next Goal Wins” stars Michael Fassbender, Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Kaimana, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Chris Alosio, Taika Waititi, Will Arnett, and Rhys Darby.

It has been directed by Academy Award Winner Taika Waititi, who has previously directed “Jojo Rabbit” and “Thor: Ragnarok”.

The film was recently released in cinemas and on digital platforms to purchase. The movie has also been released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States today.
