One of the biggest hits from the past few years has been “Only Murders In The Building” and last year, Disney announced it had been renewed for a fourth season.

In the first season, three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez), who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one. When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building, which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late. 

In the most recent season, investigating a murder behind the scenes of a Broadway show, which saw Hollywood actor star Ben Glenroy killed in the final moments.  In the season finale, Sazz, who is Charles’s stunt double and is played by Jane Lynch, is killed and will be the main focus of the team’s investigation in the fourth season.

Very little is known about the upcoming fourth season, though it was revealed by Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich at the Television Critics Association, that the fourth season will see the three characters heading to Los Angeles, before returning to the Arconia in New York to find out who Sazz’s killer was. 

“Only Murders In The Building” has had a huge cast over the past three seasons, and today, Deadline has revealed that Molly Shannon will be starring in the show.

She will be playing the role of a high-powered Los Angeles businesswoman who finds herself drawn into the world of the investigation in New York.

Shannon has previously starred in “Other People”, “A Good Person”, “I Love That For You” and “The White Lotus.”

“Only Murders in the Building” hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman (“Grace & Frankie,” “Looking”). Martin and Hoffman executive produce along with Martin Short, Selena Gomez, “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The series is produced by 20th Television.

The first three seasons of “Only Murders In The Building” are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States.  The show is also available internationally on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.
