Kylie Jenner To Star In New Hulu Series
Just ahead of the season eight release of the hit reality series, “The Kardashians” and the success of Kim’s first major drama show, “All’s Fair”, it’s been revealed that Kyle Jenner is set to star and executive produce a new thriller for Hulu/Disney+.
The new drama is going by the working title of “Bachelorette Weekend” and is close to getting a deal for a straight-to-series order for Hulu/Disney+.
In this new series, a bachelorette weekend turns deadly when the bride winds up murdered in the pool, and her closest girlfriends all become suspects. Jenner’s role is described as the North Star of the series, which pieces together the events that led to the murder.
Kylie Jenner is set to star as the bride, and it will be her first major role, though she recently starred in Charli xcx’s A24 movie “The Moment”.
“Bachelorette Weekend” is based on an unpublished book by Flora Collins and is being created by author-/screenwriter Lauren Oliver from Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. Lauren is an executive producer on the
According to Deadline, the project will be executive produced by Kylie’s sister, Kim Kardashian, who has an overall deal with 20th Television. Aaron Kaplan will also be an executive producer, with Jaiden Kaplan as a co-executive producer. Kapital Entertainment is the co-studio alongside 20th Television.
This marks the first major role for Jenner, who is following the career trajectory of older sister Kim Kardashian, a social media and reality star and business mogul branching out into acting and producing.
The Kardashian family have a strong relationship with Disney, with many of the shows including “All’s Fair”, “The Kardashians” and “The Girls: A Khloé Kardashian Project’, all doing well on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ internationally. While Kylie might not have any experience acting, she brings a lot of attention to a show that another actor would likely not be able to do.
