With the actor’s strike now over, filming on the upcoming FX series, “Alien”, is set to resume after the holidays in Bangkok, Thailand, and Deadline has revealed that Timothy Olyphant has joined the cast of the upcoming show.

The brand new series is set not too far into our future, and it’s the first Alien story set on Earth. It blends both the timeless horror of the first “Alien” film with the non-stop action of the second and will take place before Ripley.

The cast of “Alien” also includes Sydney Chandler (Pistol), Alex Lawther (Star Wars: Andor), Samuel Blenkin (Black Mirror), Kit Young (Shadow And Bone), Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) and Adarsh Gourav (The White Tiger).

Timothy Olyphant will be playing Kirsh, a synth who acts as a mentor and trainer for Chandler’s Wendy, who is a hybrid, a meta-human who has the brain and consciousness of a child but the body of an adult.

“Alien” is being created by Noah Hawley, who is also the creator of FX’s “Fargo”.

This isn’t the first time Timothy has worked with FX, having previously worked on “Justified”, “Damages”, and most recently, “Justified: City Primeval”.    Timothy has also starred in the Disney+ series, “Star Wars: The Mandalorian” and “The Book Of Boba Fett”.

The new “Alien” series was initially announced at Disney’s Investor Day event in 2020 and will be coming to Disney’s streaming services, including Hulu, Star+, and Disney+ in 2025, as long as there are no more delays.

While we wait for the new “Alien” series, 20th Century Studios will release a new film called “Alien: Romulus” in cinemas in August 2024.

Previous “Alien” films are available to stream now on Disney+ in many countries, including the UK, Canada and Australia.
