Earlier this month, Disney released the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ Original Series, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, which tells the story of Percy Jackson, who is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. After losing his mother, Percy is sheltered at Camp Half-Blood, a sanctuary for demigod children. He must prove himself and confront his origins once he discovers he too is a demigod, and will take off into the perils of pursuing enemies in search of the Underworld. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, if he’ll ever see his mother again, and if he can ever find out who he’s destined to be.

According to some new data from Deadline, the trailer looks to be getting a fantastic response from audiences, as within the first ten days of release, the trailer was able to get over 126.5 million impressions, 84.3 million video views and over 1.8 million engagements across all of official Disney+, Percy Jackson and talent accounts.

The trailer was also the second most popular video across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Tiktok, according to ListenFirst.

Hopefully, the response to the trailer will translate into views on Disney+ for this major new series, which is likely to become the next big hit for the streaming service.

The epic eight-episode series launches with a two-episode premiere on December 20th 2023, on Disney+ and will be followed by a new episode being released weekly.

Just ahead of the premiere, Disney is going to be holding premieres for the show at The Met in New York City on December 13th and another event in London on December 16th 2023.

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” stars Walker Scobell (“Percy Jackson”), Leah Sava Jeffries (“Annabeth Chase”), and Aryan Simhadri (“Grover Underwood.)

The series is based on Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series by award-winning author Rick Riordan, who is one of the creators of the show along with Jon Steinberg, “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is executive produced by Steinberg and Dan Shotz alongside Rick Riordan, Rebecca Riordan, The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, The Gotham Group’s Jeremy Bell and D.J.
