20th Television is developing a new half-hour comedy series called “Chad Powers”, which is based on an Eli Manning sketch that aired on ESPN+.

When bad behavior nukes hotshot QB Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

The new series is going to star Glen Powell as Chad Powers and he will also be an a writer and executive producer on the show, along with Michael Waldron, who have co-wrote the pilot. Eli Manning will also be serving as an executive producer along with Omaha Productions’ Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown and ESPN.

Deadline has revealed that Steve Zahn has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Jake Hudson, the charismatic Head Coach of the show’s flagging college football program. He’s about to be put out to pasture when along comes the talented oddball Chad Powers (Powell) – and with him, one last shot at glory.

Steve Zahn has previously starred the HBO series, “The Righteous Gemstones” and “The White Lotus”, along with “War Of The Planet Of The Apes” and “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid”.

“Chad Powers” will be released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and it will likely also be released as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally.
