Due to the current Coronavirus situation, production on most of the projects Disney had been working on have been put on hold, including the Disney+ Star Wars series featuring Captain Cassian Andor from Rogue One.

During a recent interview with Academy Award-winning special effects supervisor Neal Scanlan at ComicBookMovie, he confirmed that the show was about six weeks pre-production:

Originally, we were hoping to move into a few TV series, The Mandalorian had obviously already started and has done incredibly well, it’s brilliant piece of work.

We were here in the U.K. about to start on a couple of shows ourselves, but they all unfortunately got bumped. We just literally started about six weeks ago on the Cassian story until unfortunately the virus hit and we’re now all on lockdown. So, we’re trying to do the best we can from home.

The new Star Wars Cassian Andor series is due to arrive on Disney+ in 2021, though depending on how long the current situation lasts, it maybe delayed, though hopefully as much of the pre-production can be done from home as possible.
