One of the first original series announced for Disney+ was a brand new Star Wars series following Captain Cassian Andor, who was first introduced in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”.

“Andor”, is a tense nail-biting spy thriller created by Tony Gilroy and will see Diego Luna, reprising the role of rebel spy Cassian Andor and he will be joined by Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Fiona Shaw, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Genevieve O’Reilly, who will be returning as Mon Mothma.

During a recent interview with DN.SE, actor Stellan Skarsgard confirmed that “Andor” will be receiving a second season and revealed that he will be filming a second season this fall.

“We start with ‘Dune 2’ in July. And then in the autumn, it’s time for the second season of the Star Wars series ‘Andor’.”

At last year’s Disney+ Day, it was confirmed that “Andor” would be coming to Disney+ this summer, however, Stellan Skarsgard isn’t sure exactly when it will be available on the streaming service.

“I do not know when they will start broadcasting it. It will take some time, so that it does not take too long between season one and season two.”

Filming on the first season of “Andor” took much longer than “The Mandalorian”, because the series will consist of 12 episodes. There had been rumours that Disney was going to split the show into two seasons of 6 episodes, but with these comments from Stellan Skarsgard, it looks like that’s not going to be the case.   The show also took longer to film because the show was filmed on location, including in a special set built in the UK, rather than within the volume like “The Mandalorian”.

Are you looking forward to “Andor”?
