During a special presentation at the Annecy Animation International Film Festival, Disney revealed a first look at an upcoming animated series, “The Doomies”, which was officially announced at last year’s event and is one of the first European originals created for Disney+.

The series tells the story of what happens when best friends Bobby and Romy mistakenly open a gateway to another world, they turn their sleepy coastal town into a hotspot for terrifying creatures of doom. Roped into an epic supernatural mystery, they will cross paths with the so-called “Chosen One” and do battle with both literal and inner monsters. “The Doomies” is a spooky comedy that combines thrills, chills and surprises with character-driven comedy from an odd couple of ordinary teens engulfed by extraordinary circumstances. Its fast-paced humor and high-stakes action take place in a quirky French town in the heart of Brittany, imagined with moody flair and graphic style.

Here’s a first look at “The Doomies”:

The show has been created by Andrès Fernandez & Pozla (aka Rémi Zaarour).  The producer is Marc du Pontavice and the director is Andrès Fernandez, with Henry Gifford as the show’s head writer.  Xilam Animation is producing the show for Disney EMEA.  No release date has yet been announced for when “The Doomies” will arrive on Disney+.
