Disney’s Lucasfilm has many Star Wars projects currently in development, including many new Disney+ shows like “Ahsoka” and “The Acolyte”, in addition to many new films.
A number of directors, including Taika Waititi and Patty Jenkins, have been attached to projects. And most recently, it was revealed that Damon Lindeloff is working on another new Star Wars, which will be directed by “Ms Marvel’s” Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Deadline is reporting that Shawn Levy is in talks to direct an upcoming Star Wars film.
Shawn Levy has worked on a number of major projects with Disney, including “Night at the Museum”, “Cheaper By The Dozen”, and “Free Guy”.
He is also currently working on the third Marvel “Deadpool” film, which will see Ryan Reynolds return as the Merc With A Mouth and Hugh Jackman will be returning as Wolverine. Shawn will be filming “Deadpool 3” before he will film this new Star Wars film, and he is also going to be directing some episodes of the fifth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things”.
No other details have been revealed, and it’s unlikely we will find out a plot until production is underway.
Disney hasn’t released a new Star Wars film since “The Rise Of Skywalker” in 2019, and there won’t be one out for many years, but in the meantime, Disney+ will be getting plenty of new adventures in a galaxy in a far, far, away.
