Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has just begun filming on a brand new dark comedic drama called “Wild Horse Nine”.

The upcoming film is going to be directed by Martin McDonagh, who has previously worked on “The Banshees of Inisherin”.

The movie is going to star Sam Rockwell, John Malkovich, Parker Posey and Steve Buscemi. Deadline has also revealed that Mariana di Girolamo, Tom Waits, Ailín Salas and Paola Giannini have also joined the cast.

Mariana di Girolamo has previously starred in “Ema” and “Kill The Jockey”. Tom Waits has previously starred in “Licorice Pizza” and “Seven Psychopaths”. Ailín Salas has previously starred in “Lulu” and “Boni Bonita”. Paola Giannini has previously appeared in “Amores de Mercado” and “Ema”.

Searchlight President Matthew Greenfield said in a statement regarding the new casting:

“It’s a privilege to work again with the incomparable Martin McDonagh who, with Wild Horse Nine, once again masterfully blends emotional nuance with razor-sharp dark comedy. Having assembled this exceptional cast and talented crew—many of whom we’ve had the great pleasure of working with before—we couldn’t be more excited for Martin to take the world on this cinematic journey.”

Graham Broadbent for Blueprint Pictures added:

“Martin is a brilliant and singular filmmaker who we’ve been lucky to work with over a number of films. Each time he brings together the very best creative talent, and Wild Horse Nine feels set to be another amazing adventure for us all.”

With the director of Film4 Ollie Madden, also added:

“It’s a thrill to be collaborating again with Searchlight Pictures and Blueprint Pictures for Martin McDonagh’s Wild Horse Nine. Film4’s relationship with Martin now spans six films, starting with his Oscar winning short Six Shooter, right through to the BAFTA winning The Banshees of Inisherin. We’re honored to be supporting Martin and his world-class team on this latest film”.

“Wild Horse Nine” is currently in production in Rapa Nui, which is also known as Easter Island, though no plot details about the film have been revealed.
