Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has announced that it will be releasing a new film, “Magazine Dreams” in cinemas on December 8th 2023, which means we will likely see the film released on Disney’s streaming services including Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally in 2024.

The film stars Jonathan Majors as a disturbed amateur bodybuilder Killian Maddox, who struggles to find human connection in this exploration of celebrity and violence. Nothing deters him from his fiercely protected dream of superstardom in the bodybuilding world, not even the doctors who warn him of the permanent damage he causes to himself with his quest.

Also starring in the film are Taylour Paige, Haley Bennett, Mike O’Hearn, Harrison Page and Harriet Sansom Harris.

Its been directed by Elijah Bynum and producers include Jennifer Fox, Dan Gilroy, Jeffrey Soros and Simon Horsman produced. Executive producers on the movie include Jonathan Majors, Luke Rodgers and Andrew Blau.

Searchlight Pictures acquired the film at the Sundance Film Festival, beating out Neon, Sony and HBO.  With the December release date, it puts it directly into the award season, to hopefully pick up some nominations in early 2024.
