Last month, during an NFL football game between the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, Taylor Swift was cheering on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, in the stands with several well-known celebrities including Ryan Reynolds, his wife, Blake Lively.

Also with them was Hugh Jackman and “Deadpool 3” director, Shawn Levy, which led to lots of speculation that Taylor Swift is going to be making a cameo as the mutant Dazzler in the upcoming third instalment of the “Deadpool” franchise.

Dazzler is a Mutant who was introduced in the early 1980s and is a popstar who has the ability to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams. Taylor Swift also looks very similar to the original comic book version of the character, so fans have been getting excited over the possible cameo.

Recently, Ryan Reynolds, spoke with the Vancouver Sun, following him being awarded the Order of British Columbia and revealed he had heard about the rumour and teased that people will have to wait and see.

“Yeah, I’ve heard that one.  I love it (the gossip). I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.”

Filming on the third “Deadpool” film began earlier this summer in England, but production was shut down when the SAG-AFTRA actors strike began, and filming is expected to resume soon, in order to get the film out on its new release date of July 26th 2023.  Initially, the film was due to be released in May 2024, but the strike caused a date change.

“Deadpool 3” will see Ryan Reynolds return as the Merc with a Mouth, along with Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine. Also starring in the film will be “The Crown‘s” Emma Corrin and “Succession‘s” Matthew Macfadyen, along with the returning Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, Karan Soni, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Jennifer Garner, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic.

The new film will feature many multiverse shenanigans, so anything is possible and a quick cameo wouldn’t be a surprise.

While we wait for the new film, the first two “Deadpool” films and “Logan” are available to stream now on Disney+.
