Later this month, Disney is releasing the first few episodes of the new Star Wars series, “Ahsoka” on Disney+, which is set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

“Ahsoka” was initially introduced in “The Clone Wars” animated film and series, along with the “Rebels” animated series, and she made her live-action debut in the second season of “The Mandalorian”.

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly before the actor’s strike began, Rosario Dawson was asked about a potential second season, while the cast and crew are tight-lipped, Rosario revealed she would like to continue making the show and explained what would make that happen:

“If more comes next, I’d be really excited and grateful.  I feel like every time I get to step into her shoes, I learn more. I experience what I could never experience otherwise, and I feel like I keep getting better.”

She added:

“I really, really hope the fans love it.  That means A) we get to do more and B) we’ve honored the legacy of this character and this journey, and I know that’s what we intended to do.”

“Ahsoka” also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Ivanna Sakhno, Diana Lee Inosanto, David Tennant, Lars Mikkelsen and Eman Esfandi. The episodes are directed by Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa. Dave Filoni is the head writer and executive producer, along with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist serves as co-executive producer.

Back at this year’s Star Wars Celebration event, it was announced that Dave Filioni was creating a brand new film, which is going to be a crossover event film featuring characters from the Disney+ era shows, “The Mandalorian”, “Skeleton Crew” and “Ahsoka”.  So we will likely see “Ahsoka” return, but will that be a second season, hopefully, as Rosario said, if enough people watch the show and enjoy it, when it debuts on Disney+ on August 23rd 2023
