In June, Pixar is releasing the next instalment in the “Inside Out” franchise in cinemas, which will see returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone.

“Inside Out 2” will be hitting cinemas in June, before arriving on Disney+ later this year, but we’ve also got a brand new series called “Dream Productions”, which is set in the Inside Out universe of Riley’s dreams.

Very little is currently known about “Dream Productions,” such as when exactly it will be released or whether it will be a full animated series like “Win Or Lose” or just a series of shorts like “Cars On The Road.”

It’s likely that “Dream Productions” has been inspired by the scene from the first movie, where Riley’s dreams and nightmares are created. Dream Productions has been built and staffed like a Hollywood Studio and its where we are introduced to the Rainbow Unicorn and got to see lots of adventures within the movie, such as the chase scene with the huge clown.

Roger’s Take: It makes sense to continue the “Inside Out” franchise, and some shorts that are just “dreams” is a great way of making something completely silly, completely random, and it can be a bit of fun, plus the ideas can never end, so makes a great idea for something that can just be added to year on year, if successful. Plus, if it is a short series, audiences are much more understanding that it’s not going to necessarily be at the same level as a movie and have different expectations. Plus it’ll likely help sell more merchandise and drum up more viewership of the original movie.
