Today, during the third day of the Star Wars Celebration event in London, England, one of the biggest panels of the day was “A Look Back at Obi-Wan Kenobi”, which took a look back at the limited hit series with “Obi-Wan Kenobi’s” Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Indira Varma, Vivien Lyra Blair and executive producer/director Deborah Chow.

While the majority of the focus of the panel was focused on the actors and the director sharing stories of their favourite scenes, what they enjoyed about making the show and generally a positive experience, Ewan McGregor did tease at the end of the panel that he’d be happy to return to the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi again.

“The Star Wars part of my life is back and it feels so good. It was just the right time to come back and do it again. Hopefully, someone might think we should do some more.”

The crowd in attendance took to its feet and made as much noise as possible to show their love to see more of Obi-Wan Kenobi on the screen, however earlier in the weekend, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy spoke with Variety  at the event and provided an update on the second season:

“That is not in active development. But I never say never, because there’s always the possibility. That show was so well-received and [director] Deborah Chow did such a spectacular job. Ewan McGregor really wants to do another. Everybody’s all hands on deck with what we’re doing right now, as you can see by what we showed everybody [at the Celebration]. We’ll turn our attention to that again maybe down the road.”

With Lucasfilm focused on many different Disney+ shows, plus a plan to return back to theatrical releases for Star Wars, it might be a while until we see Obi-Wan Kenobi on our screens, as the door seems very much open for more, but just not right now.
