The start of a new month has seen a number of movies removed from Disney+ in the United States including the 20th Century Studios film, “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”. The movie is still available on Disney+ in other countries.
The removal of the film is down to pre-existing contracts made before Disney purchased 20th Century Fox, which Disney has to honour. “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” will return to Disney+
Unlike other streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or HBO Max, Disney+ doesn’t make subscribers aware of these removals in advance.
In “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”, the hapless museum night watchman Larry Daley must help his living, breathing exhibit friends out of a pickle now that they’ve been transferred to the archives at the Smithsonian Institution. Larry’s (mis)adventures this time include close encounters with Amelia Earhart, Abe Lincoln and Ivan the Terrible.
What do you think of Disney+ removing titles like “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian”?
