Disney has announced its upcoming slate of six new upcoming French Disney+ Originals, that will be heading to the streaming platform in 2023. The announcement was made at the Séries Mania Festival in Lille, by Disney’s Pauline Dauvin, Vice-President of Programming, Original Productions and Acquisitions, who said in a statement (translated)

“The vocation of Disney+ is to bring together all the content of The Walt Disney Company Group studios on a single platform for families and fans, but also for adult targets with or without children. This great diversity of content offered on Disney+ allows us to address a target beyond Disney’s natural target, especially thanks to French productions”

From April 5th, Disney+ will offer the second season of “Week-End Family” which will bring the entire tribe back together again around Eric Judor and Daphnée Côté-Hallé, who are back for even more funny and offbeat adventures.  It was also announced that the first season of “Week-End Family” will be broadcast on TMC during on March 31st and April 7th.

Disney+ also confirms this year’s programming of “Irresistible”, a romantic comedy created by Clémence-Madeleine Perdrillat with a Camélia Jordana madly in love and in the middle of post-traumatic stress disorder… in love.

The dramatic series “Tout va bien” will also be offered in the course of 2023 on the platform: written by Camille de Castelnau, it plunges us into the daily life of an ordinary family. Therefore necessarily neurotic and conflictual, confronted with a drama – the serious illness of one of her children – which hits the lives of each of its members.

Other new original programming coming to our screens this year, is a four episode documentary series, “Lambert against Lambert: In the name of Vincent” which traces for the first time all the “Vincent Lambert case”, in a context of debate on the end of life. This documentary series is designed by Elodie Buzuel, co-directed with Vincent Trisolini, and produced by Julie Perris of Zadig Productions.

There are two original French films coming, this year including “A Zone to Defend”, a moving and intense melodrama, carried by a 5-star cast, featuring Lyna Khoudri and François Civil.  And “Antigang: La Relève”, with Alban Lenoir, Jean Reno and Sofia Essaïdi, an action film that is as funny as it is spectacular.

Disney also announced a new series, “Les enfants sont rois”, a series adapted from Delphine Le Vigan’s eponymous book.  This new series is in production and is scheduled to begin shooting in France soon.

Expect to see all of these French Disney+ Originals released globally on the streaming platform.
