National Geographic Greenlights “The Bible From Space (w.t.) Two Part Documentary Special
Recently, National Geographic announced that it has commissioned leading British indie production company, Caravan to produce THE BIBLE FROM SPACE (w.t.), a two-part documentary special which reveals the truth behind the biggest, most incredible stories from the Old Testament.
THE BIBLE FROM SPACE (w.t.) will premiere in 2019 on the National Geographic channel in 172 countries and 43 languages. Shows like this and many more from National Geographic are set to be added to Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+, when it launches in late 2019.
National Geographic Explorer, adventurer, and expert in remote sensing, Albert Lin (“Lost Treasures of the Maya Snake Kings,” “China’s Megatomb Revealed”) will guide viewers on a journey through the Holy Lands, delving into the historical events that might lie behind biblical stories including the Exodus and parting of the Red Sea, as well as the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.
The Bible From Space’s extraordinary revelations will change our understanding of Biblical events forever. Travelling with a mobile laboratory through the deserts of the Middle East and working with top archaeologists, Lin carries out brand-new scientific research, using satellite imagery, multi-spectral analysis, magnetometry, aerial photogrammetry and old-fashioned detective work to find answers hidden for millennia.
Multi-Spectral Satellite imagery allows satellite photos to identify excavation sites from 800 kilometres up, far beyond Earth’s stratosphere. Digital archaeology promises to rebuild destroyed worlds from fragments of their remains. Buildings, settlements, roads, and even evidence of natural disasters hidden beneath the earth’s surface will be brought back to life.
Jules Oldroyd, SVP, International Programming for National Geographic commented: “Having had great success in uncovering ancient ruins around the world over the last couple of years, National Geographic is excited to be partnering with Caravan on this series and to have Albert Lin on board a project that will move digital archaeology forward by attempting to reveal the truth of these ancient narratives handed down over countless generations.”
Dinah Lord, Founder and Managing Director of Caravan said: “Caravan is thrilled to be working with National Geographic to provide its global audience with answers to some of the greatest mysteries of the Bible. Using revolutionary scientific technology alongside expert archaeology, the findings may change our understanding of Biblical stories forever.”.
