Earlier this year, Marvel Studios released a brand new original series on Disney+, “Ms. Marvel”, which introduced Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager who gets superpowers.

Since the first season finished in July, there hasn’t been any confirmation of additional seasons, though Ms Marvel will be starring in the upcoming “The Marvels” film, which arrives in cinemas in July 2023.

Recently, “Ms. Marvel” cinematographer Jules O’Loughlin was interviewed by Comicbook.com, and was asked about a potential second season of the show:

“Listen, hand on heart, I can honestly say that at this stage, I haven’t heard of any plans for a Season 2… there’s so much going on with Marvel, and there’s stuff happening and popping up all the time, but I haven’t heard of anything, Sharmeen [Obaid-Chinoy] hasn’t heard of anything. The next thing for Iman and the character of Kamala is to be in The Marvels. But at this stage, there hasn’t been any talk of a season two on Ms. Marvel.”

Jules O’Loughlin went on to share that he would love to return for a second season:

“I would love there to be a season two because I think season one was so much fun and such a great shake, and I think it’s really touched a lot of hearts, and people seem to be crazy for Ms. Marvel… that’s done so well. So listen, I think it’d be a lot of fun, certainly shooting. I had a huge amount of fun shooting the eps that I did on season one. So if I was offered the chance to be involved in the season two, hell yeah. Why not? What’s not to like about that?”

Marvel didn’t reveal any more details on the future of “Ms Marvel” at the San Diego Comic-Con, but hopefully, we might get an update next month at the D23 Expo. However, following reports of poor viewing numbers for “Ms Marvel”, Disney might not necessarily bring the show back for a second season and instead, use the character in other films and Disney+ series.

Would you like to see “Ms Marvel” return for a second season?

Ms Marvel exceeded my expectations for the series, placing it below Loki and WandaVision for the live action shows. Because of the uniqueness and family aspect of this one, there needs to be additional seasons.
