Michael Thomas Grant Joins “Grey’s Anatomy” Cast
Just ahead of the return of the twenty-first season of the hit series, “Grey’s Anatomy”, ABC has revealed details on one of the upcoming new characters, who will be introduced in the second episode of the new season.
The series follows a team of doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial who are faced with life-or death decisions on a daily basis. They seek comfort from one another, and, at times, more than just friendship. Together they discover that neither medicine nor relationships can be defined in black and white.
Last month, it was revealed that a new chaplain would be introduced to the show and today, TVLine has revealed that Michael Thomas Grant, who previously starred in “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” and ” The Rookie: Feds” will play the new role of James.
The official character description from ABC states, “James joins Grey Sloan as the hospital’s openly gay Episcopal chaplain. He holds a special place in his heart for his younger patients, and his warmth, training and spirituality make him comfortable and confident in any situation. In his personal life, James finds himself at a crossroads where he is open to love and taking great leaps of faith.”
With Jake Borelli’s upcoming departure as Doctor Levi Schmitt in the series, the creatives wanted to introduce a new key gay character.
The new series will return on ABC on Thursday, 26th September 2024, at 10 pm ET, with new episodes available the next day on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. The new series will also be coming to Disney+ later this year in many countries, including the UK.
The previous twenty seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
