Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Trailer Released
Later this summer, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man will be returning to the big screen in a new adventure called “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”, which sees Tom Holland return in the title role.
Following the “Home” trilogy, which included the box office smash, “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” this new film marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
Check out the trailer below:
The new film has been directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who was behind “Shang-Chi and The Legend Of The Ten Rings” and the recent Disney+ Original series, “Wonder Man”.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” will be coming to cinemas on July 31st 2026. However, since this is a Sony Pictures co-production with Marvel, it won’t be coming to Disney+ after its theatrical release; instead, it will go to Netflix for 18 months before eventually arriving on Disney+ in the United States, likely in the summer of 2028.
Roger’s Take: I have little doubt that this new “Spider-Man” film is going to be a big box office smash hit over the summer, and I’m also really interested to see where the direction of the franchise goes, as it moves away from the “Home” trilogy. I also couldn’t help but notice that there could be a potential storyline involving Spider-Man potentially becoming “Man-Spider”, as he did in the 90s animated series, which also involved “The Punisher”. Either way, I can’t wait to see this movie, and I’m certainly going to be heading to my local cinema on opening day to see it.
