Marvel’s “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” Begins Filming In Turkey
During Disney’s Investor Day event in December, officially confirmed that Ant-Man and the Wasp would be returning for a third film called “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania”.
This new theatrical film will be directed by Ant-Man director Peyton Reed and will see Paul Rudd return as Scott Lang/Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly returning as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp. With Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer both returning in their roles as Dr Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. Kathryn Newton will also be joining the cast as Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang with Jonathan Majors portraying the main villain, Kang the Conqueror.
It was revealed on the Turkish TV channel Habertürk TV by the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, that filming has now begun on the film in Cappadocia.
Cappadocia can be found in central Turkey and is known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley, Göreme and elsewhere. Other notables sites in the region include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as refuges by early Christians.
Marvel is currently filming multiple films and Disney+ series around the world including “Thor: Love and Thunder”, “Moon Knight”, “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Spider-Man 3”. It’s not known if the cast is also in Turkey to film their scenes or if they are shooting at locations.
Both “Ant-Man” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp” are available to stream on Disney+ now. “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” is due to be released in theatres in 2022.
