Way back at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Marvel Studios announced it would be creating a brand new movie featuring the first family of Marvel, the “Fantastic Four”.

Since then, there have been many delays due to strikes and the pandemic.  There has been lots of speculation about who is going to star as Reed Richards, aka Mr Fantastic; Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman; Ben Grimm, aka The Thing; and Johnny Storm, aka The Torch.

But today, on Valentine’s Day, Marvel Studios has officially announced that Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn will be playing the role of “The Fantastic Four”.

Some new artwork was revealed, with a retro Valentine’s Day card, indicating that the film could potentially be set in the 1960s and, through the multiverse or other space travel problems, end up in the modern day.  A new logo for the film has also been released, which also has a retro vibe.

The new artwork also features a robot, which could possibly be H.E.R.B.I.E. who is an established character that helps the Fantastic Four in the comic books.

Pedro Pascal will be playing the role of Reed Richards and is most well known for his role as Din Djarin from “The Mandalorian” and Joel from “The Last Of Us.   Vanessa Kirby plays his wife, Sue Storm.  Vanessa Kirby has previously starred in the Netflix smash hit, “The Crown” and most recently in “Napoleon.”

Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be playing the role of “The Thing” and is most known for his role in the hit FX series, “The Bear” and Joseph Quinn will be playing the role of Sue’s younger brother, Johnny.  Joseph is most well known for his role in the Netflix series, “Stranger Things”.

We’ve already seen the “Fantastic Four” on our screens a few times before, in three movies released by 20th Century Fox (all of which are available to stream now on Disney+), and most recently, Mr Fantastic was played by John Krasinski in “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness”.

Marvel Studios, “The Fantastic Four”, is due to arrive in cinemas on July 25th 2025, and we should expect to see the film released on Disney+ in time for the holidays.
