Production is currently underway in Sydney, Australia on 20th Century Studios’ “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”. This film starts an all-new chapter in the “Planet of the Apes” saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s “War for the Planet of the Apes.”

The new film stars Owen Teague (“It”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Peter Macon (“The Orville”), Eka Darville (“Jessica Jones”) and Kevin Durand (“The Strain”). It will be directed by Wes Ball (“The Maze Runner” trilogy).

According to Deadline, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Sara Wiseman, Lydia Peckham, and Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi have joined the cast of the film.

Travis Jeffery has previously appeared in films, including “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” and Netflix’s “Heartbreak High”. Neil Sandilands has starred in Netflix’s “Sweet Tooth”, and The CW’s “The Flash” and “The 100”.

Sara Wiseman has appeared in ABC’s “Harrow” and the New Zealand series “Shortland Street”.
Welda’abzgi’s past credits include the features Found in a Dream and Westermarck Effect. Lydia Peckham has starred in Netflix’s “Cowboy Bebop”, and Apple TV+’s “Mr. Corman”. With Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi recently appeared in the Disney+ series “The Clearing”.

No details have yet been announced regarding what the story of the movie, nor have any cast details been revealed.

The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”), Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), and Patrick Aison (“Prey”). Joe Hartwick Jr. (“The Maze Runner” trilogy), Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Jason Reed (“Mulan”) are the film’s producers. Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are the executive producers.

The next instalment in the “Planet Of The Apes” franchise will arrive in cinemas for the Memorial Day Weekend, on Friday, 24th May 2024.
