Sony Pictures Television Studios is currently developing a new series for Disney+ based on R.L. Stine’s “Goosebumps” books, which follows a group of five high schoolers who unleash supernatural forces upon their town and must all work together – thanks to and in spite of their friendships, rivalries, and pasts with each other – in order to save it, learning much about their own parents’ teenage secrets in the process.

According to Variety, Justin Long has joined the series as a series regular. He will be playing the role of Long will play Nathan Bratt, the new schoolteacher who develops a terrifying connection to a decades-old supernatural murder.

Justin Long has previously starred in “Clerks III”, “Barbarian”, “F Is for Family” and “New Girl”. He also presented the Disney+ series, “Shop Class”.

Also starring in the new Disney+ series will be Ana Yi Puig, Miles McKenna, and Will Price.

Ana Yi Puig will play the role of Isabella, who is described as “smart and naturally shy with an overwhelming sense of responsibility. Ana Yi Puig has previously starred in “Gossip Girl” and “Senior Year”.

Miles McKenna is going to play James, who is the class clown who loves the spotlight and hails from one of the wealthiest families in Port Lawrence. Miles has previously starred in “Nocturne”, “Good Girls Get High” and “All Night.”

While Will Price has been cast in the role of Jeff, who is the rebellious skateboarder who is grappling with the untimely death of his daredevil father. He has previously starred in “The Equalizer” and “The Endgame.”

“Goosebumps” is one of the best-selling book series of all time and has sold more than 400 million copies of the book series, which spans 200 different books.

This new series has been in development since April 2020 and has a 10-episode order for Disney+.  It is being written by Nick Stoller and Rob Letterman, who are also executive producers on the show. Rob Letterman will also direct the first episode. He has previously directed the 2015 “Goosebumps” film, which was also produced by Neal H. Moritz, who is also an executive producer on the series, along with Pavun Shetty of Original Film, Conor Welch of Stoller Global Solutions, and Iole Lucchese and Caitlin Friedman of Scholastic Entertainment are also executive producing the show.
