Recently, eighteen Marvel films on Disney+ were upgraded to offer IMAX Enhanced sound to subscribers using best-in-class certified devices including select DTS:X enabled Android/Google TV devices from Sony, Hisense, Phillips, Sharp, Xiaomi, and others. Certified DTS:X enabled AV receivers from manufacturers like Denon, Marantz, and JBL can also enjoy the experience of better sound.

With IMAX Enhanced, IMAX and technology partner DTS enable content that can be experienced in-home and beyond with the highest fidelity, ensuring that filmmakers’ creative intent is fully optimized for an IMAX-quality presentation. DTS:X, provided by DTS, preserves the full dynamic range of the theatrical mix, allowing sound to move freely around the listener for a more immersive presentation at home.

Disney+ is the first major streaming service to elevate the at-home viewing experience with IMAX Enhanced, giving its subscribers new ways to re-experience the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond.

In this new video, we get to peek behind the curtain and explore the crucial role sound plays in Marvel Studios movies and how IMAX has teamed up with DTS to elevate your home viewing experience.

    • While watching a video in Disney+, use your remote control to access the player controls bar at the bottom of the screen
    • Select the Audio Options button on the far right of the player controls bar. An IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X menu will appear
      • If DTS:X is not supported, this button is not available
    • Toggle the IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X setting to On
      • To disable, toggle the IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X setting to Off
