IMAX Reveal Details On Enhanced Sound By DTS Disney+ Features
Recently, eighteen Marvel films on Disney+ were upgraded to offer IMAX Enhanced sound to subscribers using best-in-class certified devices including select DTS:X enabled Android/Google TV devices from Sony, Hisense, Phillips, Sharp, Xiaomi, and others. Certified DTS:X enabled AV receivers from manufacturers like Denon, Marantz, and JBL can also enjoy the experience of better sound.
With IMAX Enhanced, IMAX and technology partner DTS enable content that can be experienced in-home and beyond with the highest fidelity, ensuring that filmmakers’ creative intent is fully optimized for an IMAX-quality presentation. DTS:X, provided by DTS, preserves the full dynamic range of the theatrical mix, allowing sound to move freely around the listener for a more immersive presentation at home.
Disney+ is the first major streaming service to elevate the at-home viewing experience with IMAX Enhanced, giving its subscribers new ways to re-experience the Marvel Cinematic Universe and beyond.

Disney+ offers a selection of Marvel movies in IMAX, along with the recent release of the “Queen Rock Montreal” concert, and to stream supported Disney+ content in DTS:X audio format, you must enable the feature during video playback on a supported Android TV device.
To enable IMAX’s expanded audio on supported Disney+ content, you will need to follow the steps:

- While watching a video in Disney+, use your remote control to access the player controls bar at the bottom of the screen
- Select the Audio Options button on the far right of the player controls bar. An IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X menu will appear
- If DTS:X is not supported, this button is not available
- Toggle the IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X setting to On
- To disable, toggle the IMAX Enhanced sound with DTS:X setting to Off
