Last year, Marvel Studios released a brand new series, “Ms Marvel,” on Disney+ around the world and introduced Kamala Khan, aka Ms Marvel to the world, with her own origin story.

The series starred Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a superhero mega-fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.

Straight after filming “Ms Marvel”, Iman started filming “The Marvels”, which sees her character team up with Captain Marvel and S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau to save the world from the Kree.

Last week, Disney released “The Marvels” in cinemas around the world, and with the actor’s strike now over, the film’s actors can now promote projects.

During a recent interview with Iman Vellani with THR to promote “The Marvels”, she was asked about a potential second season of “Ms Marvel”.

I am patient, and honestly, I hope all the love that Kamala is getting from this movie inspires people to be more vocal about wanting a season two. I would absolutely love to continue this story, and Kamala and her entire community has so much story left to tell. I want to see Bruno [Matt Lintz] again. I want to see Nakia [Yasmeen Fletcher] again, and that’s just me. So it would be really amazing to have a season two, and there’s so many different directions we can go with it.

It’s been a long time since the first season of “Ms Marvel” was released on Disney+, and Disney was likely holding off a further announcement until “The Marvels” was released.

While there is a scene in the film that could set up the next project with Ms Marvel, it’s unlikely we’ve seen the last of the character, either teaming up with some younger superheroes or with her fellow mutants.

However, since “Ms Marvel” was the lowest-viewed Marvel Disney+ show and “The Marvels” has had the worst opening weekend box office for a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, I’d think it’s much more possible that Ms Marvel is added to another show or film, since the Iman’s performance as the character has drawn lots of praise, but isn’t pulling in viewers.

But hopefully, as more people see Ms Marvel in action and become more vocal about it on social media, the chances of a second season will improve.

The first season of “Ms Marvel” is available to stream now on Disney+, and “The Marvels” is out now in cinemas.
