20th Television is developing a new pilot that is currently going by the working title of “Downforce”, which follows Victoria, the estranged daughter of a storied racing team’s owner, Sir Trevor, who is thrust back into the family business, leaving the pair to find common ground or risk destroying the team’s legacy.

The series will star Eve Hewson and Murray Bartlett, who will be playing the role of Victoria and Sir Trevor.  Deadline has revealed that Harry Delano, Reece Shearsmith, Amar Chadha-Patel and Arturo Del Puerto have joined the cast for the pilot.

Harry Delano will be playing the role of Cayley, Alastair’s son, an engineering genius who’s put to work to help the team.  Harry has previously starred in “Freud’s Last Session” and the Disney+ Original series, “Star Wars: Andor”.

Reece Shearsmith will be playing the role of Alastair, who is Regent Racing’s fastidious chief race engineer. Reece has previously starred in “The League of Gentlemen” and “Inside No. 9”.

Amar Chadha-Patel will portray Ihsan, the gentle giant of a chief mechanic for Team Regent.  Amar has previously starred in “The Decameron”, “The Creator”, and the Disney+ Original series, “Willow”.

With Arturo Del Puerto playing the role of Emiliano, the ostentatious Spanish owner of a competing team who’s hellbent on destroying Regent Racing.   Arturo has previously starred in “For All Mankind”, ” Westworld” and “Godfather of Harlem.”

The new pilot is being created by Alec Berg, who will direct the pilot and executive produce alongside Adam Countee, who both have overall deals at 20th Television.   Other executive producers on the project include Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey for Temple Hill, Daniel Ricciardo, Amy Solomon and Lionsgate.\

Should the pilot get picked up for a series, we should expect to see it released on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ and on Disney+ internationally.
