Hulu Greenlights New Documentary About The Murder Of Mike Williams
ABC News Studios is teaming up with Plum Pictures on a new documentary for Hulu about the murder of Mike Williams, a Baptist from Florida who was originally thought to have been eaten by alligators.
According to Deadline, the true-crime series chronicles the events surrounding December 16, 2000, when Williams set out for a duck hunting trip on Lake Seminole and never returned.
Mike and his wife, Denise, had what seemed like an idyllic friendship with Kathy and Brian Winchester in Tallahassee, Florida.
The two young couples loved hunting and the great outdoors, doing everything as a foursome, including planning the birth of their babies within months of each other.
But after Williams went missing and Brian Winchester divorced Kathy and married Denise, the accident suddenly looked a little more sinister.
In 2017, nearly two decades after Williams vanished, Brian Winchester admitted shooting his friend. A year later, Denise Williams was convicted of plotting to kill her husband.
The series will feature interviews with Kathy Winchester, who went to extraordinary lengths to discover the disturbing truth of what happened to Williams.
Production is currently underway on the untitled four-part series and it’s going to premiere later this year on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. It’s not yet clear if this series will also be released internationally on Disney+, but as with previous ABC News Studios series like “Little Miss Innocent: Passion. Poison. Prison” which was also made by Plum Pictures, it’s likely it will be released at a later date.
