Disney’s Onyx Collective has announced details on a brand-new drama series called “How to Die Alone”, which follows Mel, a broke, fat, Black JFK airport employee who’s never been in love and forgotten how to dream, until an accidental brush with death catapults her on a journey to finally take flight and start living by any means necessary.

The series has been created by Natasha Rothwell, who also stars as Mel.  Also starring in the series is Conrad Ricamora, Jocko Sims, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, and Bashir Salahuddin.

“How to Die Alone” is produced by ABC Signature in association with Big Hattie Productions. Natasha Rothwell and Vera Santamaria serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Desiree Akhavan serves as an executive producer.

The half-hour comedy series will debut with four episodes on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, with new episodes being released each Friday. 

No international release details have been announced, but since this series has been created by ABC Signature, expect to see this series also released as a Star Original on Disney+ around the world.
