After so much speculation, it was finally confirmed that Hailee Steinfield would be playing “Kate Bishop” in the new Marvel Hawkeye series for Disney+, when photos of her filming on the show were released online in December.
While promoting her new Apple TV+ series, “Dickinson”, Hailee told Fandom about appearing in the new Marvel series:
It’s amazing, my God, to finally be able to confirm. It’s such an honor, my goodness, to be playing this role. I’m so, so excited about it. It felt so wonderful to be back at work, I feel so grateful. It’s been a very crazy year of not knowing if that was gonna happen for a while, so I’m happy to be back at work and playing this character. It’s gonna be really fun. I’m excited for people to see it. I’m excited to see it.
Hawkeye will be debuting on Disney+ in late 2021 and stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop. The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
The new Hawkeye series is helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie.
