Last month, “The Mandalorian” star Giancarlo Esposito revealed at the CCXP event that he would be appearing in a Marvel project “sooner rather than later,” and that it was “better than you can imagine.”

And it doesn’t look like it will be too long until we see Giancarlo Esposito, as it’s been confirmed by THR that Giancarlo Esposito is in Atlanta, Georgia, for reshoots of the upcoming movie, “Captain America: Brave New World”, which will see Anthony Mackie return as Sam Wilson aka Captain America and is set after the events of the Disney+ series, “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier”. Also starring in the film will be Harrison Ford, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Danny Ramirez and Rosa Salazar.

Marvel is scheduled to film these reshoots for 22 days, which will include some new action scenes. Its common for Marvel to do reshoots on its movies and shows, so much so, that they even schedule these in advance before they start filming.

Filming on “Captain America: Brave New World” initially wrapped filming in the spring of 2023. However, the movie has gone through a number of delays due to last summer strikes plus Marvel slowing down its releases to save money, improve the quality and reduce superhero fatigue growing in fans. Initially the movie was due to arrive in cinemas on July 26th, 2024, but it was bumped back to February 14th, 2025, due to the strikes delaying post-production.

During the strikes, the initial feedback from test screenings resulted in Matthew Orton, who previously worked on the Disney+ series, “Moon Knight”, being brought on to the project last December to make some changes. However, these reshoots are apparently going to be much less than were made during the making of “The Marvels” and “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness”, which has helped keep the movie’s budget down.

While attending the 2024 Phoenix Fan Fusion convention, Giancarlo Esposito teased the audience once again that he would soon be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He did not confirm who he would be playing.

“The MCU has knocked on my door and it’s a role you won’t predict. It will be teased and there will be a series afterwards.”

Roger’s Take: Following Giancarlo Esposito’s hint at his character appearing in a new series for Disney+ after appearing in a movie leaves many questions about where he might appear. “Ironheart”, “Daredevil”, “Agatha All Along” or “Wonder Man”? Or could it be something completely different? We will have to wait and see!
