Following the actors’ and writers’ strikes coming to a close, Hollywood quickly began prioritising wrapping up filming on projects that had already been underway, but with so many projects ongoing, there have been some scheduling issues.

It’s been revealed by Deadline that Ayo Edebiri, is no longer going to be starring in the upcoming Marvel Studios film, “Thunderbolts”, which is due to begin filming soon.  Ayo is also set to return to our screens later this year in the third season of the award-winning FX series, “The Bear”.

Geraldine Viswanathan is going to be taking over the unknown role that Ayo was going to play.  Geraldine has previously starred in “Blockers” and “Beanie Bubble”.

This is the latest change to the cast, as recently it was revealed that Steven Yeun has also had to step away from the project due to scheduling.

Originally, “Thunderbolts” was scheduled to arrive in cinemas later this year, but it was bumped back due to the strikes but also with Marvel scaling back how many projects it was working on, following audiences becoming worn out with too many releases and Marvel being distracted with having too many projects on the go at once.

The upcoming film will see Florence Pugh return as Yelena Belova, along with Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster.

“Thunderbolts” will be directed by Jake Schreier and will be released in July 2025.  Very little is known about what the upcoming film is going to be about, other than following up on Valentina Allegra de Fontaine bringing together a unique team for a specific role, similar to DC’s “Suicide Squad”.
