New casting details have been revealed for an upcoming British Star Original series for Disney+ called “Culprits”, which is a darkly funny, whip-smart series about the aftermath of a heist. The crew have gone their separate ways, but someone is coming after them one by one.

Deadline is reporting that Gemma Arterton has joined the cast and will be playing the role of Dianne, a member of a heist crew that is being targeted one by one by a killer after each went their separate ways.  Gemma Arterton has previously starred in FX’s “Black Narcissus” and 20th Century Studios, “The King’s Man”.

Also starring in the series is Eddie Izzard and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.  Also starring in the new Star Original will be Kirby Howell-Baptiste, who will be playing the role of Officer and she has previously starred in “Cruella”.  Niamh Algar (Deceit) has also joined the series, along with Kamel El Basha (Insult), Ned Dennehy (Good Omens), Kevin Vidal (Strays) and newcomer, Tara Abboud.

This series will consist of eight 45 minute episodes, which is going into principal photography this week.

“Culprits” is being created by J Blakeson, who is also an executive producer, along with Stephen Garrett and Morenike William.  Johanna Devereaux is also an executive producer on the show for Disney+.  It’s being produced by Character 7 for Disney+.

Disney+ has commissioned over 60 original local productions in Europe, and “Culprits” was one of the first Star originals to be announced.
