Disney has revealed the first look image of the new British Original comedy series “Extraordinary,” which is coming to Disney+ in January 2023.

Ten years ago, everyone over the age of 18 got their superpower. But Jen, a painfully self-aware 25-year-old woman, is still waiting to get hers. She’d take anything at this point. Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope, a lot of desperation and her flatmates, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower.

“Extraordinary” is led by a cast of rising UK talent, including Máiréad Tyers, Sofia Oxenham, Bilal Hasna and Luke Rollason. Additional cast members include Siobhan McSweeney, Robbie Gee and Safia Oakley-Green.

Written by series creator and lead writer Emma Moran, a stand-out debut writer with an utterly distinctive voice, and from BAFTA, Golden Globe, Emmy, and Peabody Award-winning production company behind “Killing Eve”, Sid Gentle Films, this is a fresh, innovative comedy about being young and finding your feet in a confusing world, when all you’ll ever be is ‘ordinary’.

“Extraordinary” is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris and Charles Dawson for Sid Gentle Films and is produced by Charlie Palmer and executive produced by Johanna Devereaux, Vice President, Scripted Content, for Disney+.

“Extraordinary” will be the latest addition of Disney+ UK Original series launching on the platform, following rom-com action thriller “Wedding Season” available to stream now and “Save Our Squad with David Beckham” launching on 9 November.

Across EMEA alone, Disney’s International Content and Operations team plan to create 60 local productions by 2024, continuing to work with outstanding creators and premium producers as part of the company’s commitment to source, develop and produce high-quality original productions from around the globe.
