Disney’s “Bob The Musical” Finds Its Director

Disney is developing a new comedy movie called “Bob The Musical”, which has been in development for over a decade and follows Bob, an ordinary man whose worst nightmare becomes reality when he wakes up to discover that he’s trapped in a full-blown musical.

According to Deadline, Rudy Mancuso has joined the project as its director.  Rudy has previously worked on “Musica“, which he starred in, along with Camila Mendes.  Rudy also previously worked for Disney+ on its Pixar’s Coco Hollywood Bowl Concert Experience and also worked with Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour.  He also directed the music videos for Lele Pons’ “Celoso”, “Bloqueo”, and “Stories From Our Future”.

“Bob The Musical” is going to be produced by Kristen Burr and Tripp Vinson.   Kirston has previously worked with Disney on “Cruella” and “Christopher Robin”, while Tripp has worked with Disney on “Ready Or Not”.

The project has been described as one of Hollywood’s most intriguing “in-development” projects.  Over the years, a number of other directors have been linked to the project, including Mark Waters, Adam Shankman, Michel Hazanavicius, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller.    Channing Tatum was also previously linked to star in the film, though its unclear if that’s still going to be the case.

No other details on “Bob The Musical” have been revealed, such as when it might be released in cinemas or directly onto Disney+.
