This past week, Disney added the smash-hit film, “Avatar: The Way Of Water”, onto Disney+ around the world, but at the same time, the original “Avatar” film has now been made available in 4K Ultra High Definition, with HDR 10 and Dolby Atmos,

Just prior to the release of”Avatar: The Way Of Water” in cinemas last year, 20th Century Studios re-released the original “Avatar” film in cinemas in stunning 4K High Dynamic Range, for a limited time. Disney is also releasing the original film on physical disc on 4K-Ultra DVD on June 20th 2023.

“Avatar” is the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself thrust into hostilities on an alien planet filled with exotic life forms. As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the indigenous people.

Written and directed by Academy Award winner James Cameron, “Avatar” stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver. The film was produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau. Nominated for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, the film won three Oscars, for Best Cinematography, Production Design and Visual Effects.
