Disney+ Suffering Technical Issues On Launch Day

Today sees the launch of Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+ and as expected, the sheer number of people trying to login to watch the latest Disney movies and shows is causing technical issues.

We are getting multiple reports across our Disney+ Facebook Group and on other social media that users are struggling to login or if they are in, suffering from errors while searching, making watchlists or trying to view content.

These technical issues aren’t effecting everyone as other users are reporting no issues.  So it might just be a local issue.  However thousands of users are reporting problems with Disney+.

Having technical issues with launching online services isn’t uncommon, most online video games have struggled in the past and Disney also had technical issues with their D23 website in August when they opened up pre-orders to Disney+.

Disney+ was working first thing this morning, however as more of America and Canada woke up and started logging in, the more problems have been reported.

As with all new tech launches, expect things to settle down as the excitement over launch dies down and Disney get their support teams onto the problem.

If you are suffering from problems, I would recommend waiting today as they will be flooded with emails and phone calls.

However it’s still a major embarrassment for Disney+ to suffer these issues on its first day.

    Can’t access any content. Keep receiving error messages indicating to try again later. Very frustrating as we have kids off school here in Michigan due to a snow day who were super excited Disney + finally launched. Hopefully they resolve the issues in a timely manner.

    Yes, we’re experiencing issues. I signed up this morning & though I can see the main page none of the streaming will load. I’m sure it will get better once the excitement settles but I’m eager to get started. Lol. Something to look forward to, right?

    The Disney+ app showed up on Roku last night a little after midnight, so I set my account up and had no issues finding or accessing anything (it is surprising how much isn’t being offered, though).

    This morning at 6:30 ONLY the Disney movies were being displayed, nothing from Marvel, Star Wars or Pixar was even listed. Of the movies that were listed, none of them would play.

    Surprisingly, The Mandalorian was available without a problem.

    Was working this morning for me, but there were issues. Watched three Gravity Falls shorts and two Pixar shorts before going to work. Was able to put some titles in watchlist, but others would not go. Got a few error messages.

    Logged in and can watch a show if you don’t mind the 3-5 second delay in the sound from the picture! Annoying!!

    It worked on my phone early this morning but hasn’t worked on my smart tv at all! If it were free I wouldn’t be upset but I paid for 3 years of service in ADVANCE. I expect to be able to use the things I pay for. Disney should have anticipated the amount of users & been prepared.

    I can’t get logged in because when I try my login credentials it says to call the 888-905-7888 number. Been trying to call since yesterday with no luck at all 🙁

    Will not let me log in on my iPhone keeps saying can’t find my account. It works just fine on my Roku TV

    Contacting them doesn’t work. I sent two emails on Tuesday and no reply. I tried live chat and it said half hour wait and a hour went by. I tried calling and no number.
