One of the many animated projects announced on Disney+ Day in 2021 was “Marvel Zombies”, which is a new animated series that is a spinoff from the hit show, “What If?”.

This new animated series from Marvel Studios reimagines the Marvel Universe as a new generation of heroes battle against an ever-spreading zombie scourge.  

Disney has confirmed that the upcoming series will feature many actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Hailee Steinfeld, Dominique Thorne, Iman Vellani, and Todd Williams.

The show will see a team of heroes, including Ms Marvel, Kate Bishop and Shang-Chi, taking on a number of iconic heroes and villains that have been turned into Zombies.  Some of the other characters who have turned into zombies include Ghost, Abomination, Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Okoye, and Captain America. 

The series will consist of four episodes, which have been directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews and written by executive producer Zeb Wells.  The executive producers on the series also include Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt.  The producers of “Marvel Zomebis” include Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar.

Recently, Disney released a video highlighting everything coming to Disney+ in 2025 from Marvel, which includes a sneak peek at “Marvel Zombies”.

Marvel has also announced that the series will premiere on Disney+ on October 3rd 2025.
