It’s been over 18 months since the release of the last episode of the Disney+ Original series, “Marvel Studios’ Legends”, but just ahead of the release of the new Disney+ series, “Ironheart”, a new episode reminding audiences of who Riri Williams is has been released.

This new episode reminds audiences of this streetwise teenager. Student extraordinaire. Schemer and lawbreaker. Brilliant inventor. Enemy of the establishment. Heir apparent to Tony Stark. Hero in the making. If we’re talking about complex characters within the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Riri Williams (aka Ironheart) is most definitely in the conversation. Legends revisits and remembers Riri’s unlikely journey: from university hallways to the vibranium-rich fields of Wakanda, and back again.

However, unfortunately, this new episode of “Marvel Studios Legends” hasn’t been released on Disney+; instead, Disney decided to release it on YouTube.

The last episode of “Marvel Studios Legends” was released just prior to the launch of the second season of “What If?” in December 2023, marking over 18 months since the last new episode.  Disney completely missed all of the releases from 2024 and 2025, such as “Agatha All Along”, “Daredevil: Born Again”, “Captain America: Brave New World” and others.

Check out the “Ironheart” episode of “Marvel Studios Legends” below:

“Marvel Studios’ Legends” debuted in 2021 and allows audiences to revisit epic heroes, villains, and moments from across the MCU in preparation for the highly anticipated stories still to come. Each dynamic segment feeds directly into the upcoming series and movies released on Disney+, setting the stage for future events. “Marvel Studios: Legends” weaves together the many threads that constitute the unparalleled Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This isn’t the first Marvel Original series to move from Disney+ to YouTube, as “Assembled”, the making of series, also saw the last episode, based on “Agatha All Along”, was also released directly onto Disney+, though there haven’t been any other episodes for any new Marvel release in 2025, indicating that the show is likely cancelled.

I do believe that the return of “Marvel Studios’ Legends” is mainly down to it being a cheap way of promoting the new “Ironheart” series before it arrives on Disney+ on June 24th 2025. It also serves as a reminder to audiences that Riri has appeared in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” before.

Will we see other “Marvel Studios’ Legends” episodes released in the future? Or will Disney see what the response to this video is, to decide if it’s worthwhile bringing the show back. Hopefully, this new episode will also get released on Disney+ as well, as it doesn’t make much sense if it isn’t.
