Earlier this week at Disney’s APAC Showcase in Singapore, more details on the upcoming anime version of its popular Disney “Twisted-Wonderland” mobile video game.

The animated series transports audiences to the prestigious Night Raven College, an arcane academy where magic thrives in every corner.

The official mobile game description states:

Perhaps there’s more to “villains” than meets the eye…

Summoned by a magic mirror to Twisted Wonderland, a world altogether unlike your own, you arrive at Night Raven College, a prestigious arcane academy.

With nowhere else to go, you accept the masked headmaster’s hospitality and begin searching for a way home.

You quickly find that the students of this school are as talented as they are dysfunctional—bickering and competition are the perpetual order of the day.

Will you be able to work with them and eventually return from whence you came?

And what secrets lie within the villainous hearts of these students?

With anime becoming increasingly popular, the upcoming anime series has been given a three-season order. Each season will focus on the three-story arcs from the game: “Episode of Heartslabyul,” “Episode of Savanaclaw,” and “Episode of Octavinelle.”

The first season, “Episode of Heartslabyul,” will be released on Disney+ in October 2025, with further seasons to be released at a later date.

The upcoming series is being produced by Yumeta Company and Graphinica .  It was also revealed that Takahiro Natori is the show’s Chief Director and Series Composition.  Shin Katagai is directing the show, and Yoichi Kato is working on the project as the main screenwriter.  Hanaka Nakano and Akane Sato are working on character design for the show.

Roger’s Take:  I think converting this popular mobile game to an anime series is perfect, as it’s just the type of show that could break out and go mainstream.  It’s something completely different and I’m positive this is going to be a big hit, for Disney to already commit to three seasons, they must think so too.
