Disney Lorcana Reveals “Whispers In The Well” Set Details
Later this year, Ravensburger is going to be releasing a brand new set for the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game (TCG) called “Whispers In The Well”, which will introduce characters from many classic films and shows, that are available on Disney+.
In this new set, which will be released in stores in November, characters from “The Black Cauldron” and “Gargoyles” will join the game for the first time, along with plenty of characters from “Zootopia”, ahead of the sequel hitting cinemas for Thanksgiving.
Introduced in the set is a new classification of cards called Whispers. These glimmers (versions of Disney characters in the realm of Lorcana) are strange spectres that are not fully formed. Players can use a new mechanic called Boost to trigger new abilities or make them stronger. To boost a Whisper, players must place cards from their deck beneath the card. However, the question remains as to where exactly these Whispers are coming from, and it’s up to players to solve this mystery!
Shane Hartley, Ravensburger Vice President of Creative on Disney Lorcana TCG, said in a statement regarding the new set:
“It is a real thrill getting to work on a set of cards like Whispers in the Well with so many wonderful Disney glimmers coming to the game. We wanted to evoke the feeling of a detective searching for clues among the Whispers in the deep, and the artwork for the set really brings that to life!”
Elaine Chase, Head of the Disney Lorcana studio at Ravensburger, also added:
“Whispers in the Well is a wonderful addition to the game that follows up from the success of Fabled and sets up the next arc of storytelling forDisney Lorcana TCG. I can’t wait to see how collectors respond to the amazing Enchanted cards in this set, as well as the cool new decks Illumineers can craft to show off their love of Disney stories the game is bringing back into focus.”
With the introduction of The Black Cauldron come glimmers both heroic and terrifying. The titular item makes an appearance, and it is one powerful card indeed. And let’s not forget that all too recognisable and menacing villain, The Horned King. As a Wicked Ruler, he allows players to bring banished glimmers back into play quickly—a helpful use of his dark sorcery.
Disney has also revealed some sneak peeks at upcoming sets, including “Winterspell”, which will see characters from “Darkwing Duck” and “Lilo & Stitch: The Series” coming to the game. Both shows are available to stream on Disney+, and “Winterspell” pre-releases on February 13th, 2026, followed by a wide release a week later on February 20th 2026.
It was also revealed that in Q2 2026, new characters from Pixar Animation Studios will make their game debut in the “Wilds Unknown” set, with Woody and Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story” coming to the game. Plus, in the last set of 2026, characters from “Turning Red” will be added to the game.
“Whispers in the Well” is available for prerelease in game stores on November 7th 2025, and will be available everywhere on November 14th.
Roger’s Take: For Disney fans, “Lorcana” offers a great experience of a fun collectable featuring so many characters from popular movies and shows on Disney+. Each new set sees characters from different franchises added to the game, offering something unique and different from previous sets, while also including more well-known characters.
