This past Tuesday, the Walt Disney Company held a press event in Bangkok, Thailand, to share launch details for its streaming service, Disney+ Hotstar.

The event was hosted by June Sawitri and also featured appearances by models and actors including Aff Taksaorn Paksukcharern, Boy Pakorn Chatborirak, Tik Jesdaporn Pholdee and Mario Maurer.

Disney+ Hotstar launches in Thailand on June 30th and will be priced at THB 99 a month, or THB 799 for a yearly subscription.

There is a special promotion for Advanced Info Service (AIS) mobile users, who will get a special price of THB 35 a month for 12 months if they subscribe before June 27th.

Disney+ Hotstar will include content from Disney’s main brands including Marvel, Pixar, 20th Century Studios, Star Wars, National Geographic.  There will also be many of the Disney+ Originals including “WandaVision”, “Loki”, “The Mandalorian” and many more.

It will also offer content from creators in Thailand, including GDH 559, Sahamongkolfilm, Kantana Group and One 31.   Content coming to Disney+ Hotstar will include “God Bless The Trainees Too!,” “Extraordinary Siamese Story: Eng and Chang”, “Pee Mak,” “Friend Zone,” “Brother Of The Year,” “Laddaland” and “Tom Yum Goong.”


There will also be licensed content from Asian studios including Korean science fiction action film “Seobok,” acclaimed Taiwanese drama film “The Silent Forest” and popular Chinese series “The Deer and the Cauldron.”  In addition to Oscar-winner “Parasite,” Hong Kong martial arts film “Ip Man 4: The Finale,” and Japanese films and series “Shin Godzilla,” “Let Me Eat Your Pancreas” and “24 Japan.”

David Shin, general manager of The Walt Disney Company in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia (excluding Indonesia) said:

Disney+ HotStar has already launched in many countries including Indonesia, Malaysia and India.  Disney+ recently launched in Singapore.
